Kate Smith-Morse is a DC area native who studies sculpture and performance art, first at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and now at the Maryland Institute College of Art. A jill-of-all-trades when it comes to backstage, she has worked on costumes, sets, and props construction around these parts since 2008. When not working on shows, or being employed as a freelance seamstress and figure art model, Kate pursues her own active studio practice, races sailboats, and has been known to cut a mean rug at the Glen Echo swing dances. She send out a tremendous amount of love and thanks to all her family and friends who’ve supported her dirty little artist career, and to all of you reading this.
